TOGETHER, LET’S PROMOTE THE SOCIAL AND SOLIDARITY ECONOMY
Entrepreneurs d’Impact Luxembourg (EIL) is the professional association of Sociétés d’Impact Sociétal (SIS) in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Founded in 2025 through the transformation of ULESS, its mission is to support, represent, and promote entrepreneurship that delivers a positive and sustainable societal impact. EIL acts as a platform for exchange, influence, and development, aiming to position Luxembourg as a European leader in the impact economy.
The Société d’Impact Sociétal (SIS) status has unleashed a new wave of entrepreneurship. Unlike traditional associations, which are limited in their commercial activities, SIS can generate sustainable profit while delivering measurable positive social and/or environmental impact.
“We are witnessing the emergence of a new economic paradigm,” explains Virginie Ducommun, President of EIL and entrepreneur with expertise in marketing. “SIS demonstrate that it is possible to reconcile economic performance and societal impact without relying on state funding. Our role is to structure and amplify this movement.”
This specialisation allows EIL to develop deep expertise, whereas the former ULESS had to juggle between very different models—sometimes generating contradictions (between non-profit ASBLs and SIS)—which EIL will now be able to avoid.
